Bovington 2 has been operated as a fishery by CAPS since 1991 when we secured the fishing rights. Since then numerous stocking have resulted in a great variety of fish to catch. Carp and Tench are the main focus of attention with a good number of specimen fish. In Nov 2019 one of the carp coming out at 42lb. Whilst the number of double figure Tench is not as high as it once was, they are still in residence.
In February of 2018 the club refreshed the stock with a dozen VS Fisheries Carp these fish were between 8 & 19lb and in November 2020 five C5 and two C4 between 10lb and 18lb were also added.
All fish being a mixture of linears, leathers, heavily plated mirrors.

All Year without a close season, subject to change at any time.

Toilets

The toilet is located in the car park for Bovington 1. It remains there throughout the year and is regularly cleaned by a contracted company.

Following the coronavirus pandemic If you need to use the toilet we expect you to wipe any surfaces that are to be touched prior to, and after using the facility.

Water Size

Bovington 2 is approximately 6 acres in size and has 32 pegs.

 

Disabled Details

No designated disabled swim or disabled Facilities.

Restrictions

Members should ensure they are familar with the rules of the club in the Handbook you recieved when joining on can be found on this website. But to highlight some for this water. 
The access gate is to be locked at all times after entry or exit.
Members are permitted to use a maximum of two rods in the Summer
months April - end of Sept. Three Rods can be used 1st Oct to end of March
The use of all Nuts as hookbaits or loose feed is banned on all Society waters

This water has seen the installation of an otter fence by Embryo Angling Habitats at great expense to the club. It is essential that the access gate is closed and locked at all times. Any member found to be leaving the gate open will face an immediate lifetime ban from the club.

Directions

From Colchester take the A12 towards London, leaving at the Hatfield Peverel exit. Shortly after-wards turn left towards Maldon ( B1019 ). Follow this road for about 900mtrs before turning left into a minor road ( Wickham Bishop Road ). Entrance to the fishery is through a gate about 200mtrs down this road. The first lake on the left is Bovington 1, drive past this lake down the track to the Bovington 2 lake.
