The fishing on this mile long stretch which is shared with Billericay and District Angling Club is not considered easy, but it can yield excellent specimens. The nominal river depth is about 5 feet although variations along the stretch mean that you can find swims between 2 and 10 feet deep. Of particular mention are the several shoals of Bream with individual specimens reaching 10lbs. Night anglers tell us they have success with Chub up to 6lbs and Pike to 21lb have also been caught.
The river also holds Tench, Perch, Dace, Rudd and Roach. Small Barbel were stocked into this stretch some years ago, part of an ongoing programme by the E.A. to increase the numbers of this species in the whole river, although is is not known if these still remain in this stretch.
River Close Season applies between 15th March and 15th June inclusive.
No toilets on this stretch.

Due to the nature of this water no disabled swims are available.
1. Close season applies 15th March to 15th June inclusive.
2. Anglers must not dig swims into bank.
This strech is on Henny Road between Bures and Sudbury with the parking in a layby approximately half a mile before the Henny Swan public house if coming from Bures.
There is a stile by the parking area which you will need to cross. Note there is a farmers gate to the field but this is locked at all times and only used for the farmers access. Once across the stile then it is a flat walk to the nearest swims on the river.
